Tanfield Lea Business Centre - Stanley - Co Durham

Scomar recently completed the Design and Installation of Avanti Glazed Partition walls to the new business centre for Derwentside Council in Durham.

The Installation comprised;

Fireshield AS, an economical and practical relocatable performance partitioning system. The system which is 75mm thick is based on a 50mm metal stud framework clad with aluminium powder coated glazing sections & trims in RAL9006 finish.

Elevations included full height double glazed with blinds, full height single glazed with manifestation & half height glazed elevations in non fire rated & half hour fire rated configuration.

The fire rated partitions incorporated a combination of 7mm clear Pyrobelite fire rated safety glass & 6mm clear toughened safety non fire rated glass, this glass was also used on non fire rated screens. Pilkington's 6mm Optifloat Satin toughened safety glass was also used on selected screens to provide privacy glass.

The partitions facing the atrium were built as faceted to mirror the curved shape of the building and incorporated single & double doors fitted into aluminium door frames.

Avanti Solare frameless single glazing was used for staircase screens were a fire rating of 30/30 was required. This elevation used 16mm Pyrobel clear fire rate safety glass fitted into a micro section aluminium framework with aluminium radiused profile door frames.
Manifestation in opal frost film to the client's logo design was applied to the glass.
